Language is not to be taken lightly

Re: “Schizophrenic landscape” | Culture | February 10

Like many people probably feel, I am getting tired of having to write letters to The Daily pointing out offensive or discriminatory writing, but the use of “schizophrenic” as an adjective to describe an art piece, as emphasized by The Daily, is ignorant and insensitive. Schizophrenia is an often-debilitating mental illness and to think we can feel “schizophrenic” by watching a trippy film is a gross misjudgement.
